Local trees made into furniture for local people
|
Trees serve a lot of purposes in our community like cleaning our air, creating shade and just generally making things look better. But at times they need to be taken down due to storm damage, disease or if they pose a danger to those in the area. Cardinal Woodcraft works with local arborists, tree cutters and sawyers (someone who mills trees into lumber) to harvest these trees and turn them into something useful. Furniture produced by Cardinal Woodcraft is meant for local Pittsburghers only and is not shipped anywhere else in the country. There is no physical store so as to keep costs competitive. Delivery and setup is always included to anywhere in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. |
Cardinal Woodcraft does not offer custom built furniture but rather has a few designs to choose from. Size and wood species are customizable for pre-orders and those on the waiting list. This allows for maximum efficiency and keeps the cost of these items as low as possible so that local, high quality furniture is available to as many people in the Pittsburgh area as possible.
I also offer scrapwood tables which are made from the offcuts and waste that come as a result of building furniture and cabinetry. These tiny pieces are glued up, surfaced and made into unique pieces to ensure that no material goes to waste. |

Currently, I (Aaron) am working on securing more shop space in order to expand this part of the business and be able to offer kitchen, dining room and living room sets all made from locally sourced lumber.
