CLOSE TO HOME
Cardinal Woodcraft is a small, custom carpentry shop in the South Hills of Pittsburgh that is owned and operated by Aaron. Everything I build is custom made and finished with the finest of materials including many locally sourced hardwoods that have been milled and air dried. As much as possible, products used are bought from local distributors, sawyers and sawmills and support our local economy and make use of trees that would otherwise be burned or disposed of. I also make every effort to use every last scrap of wood produced in my shop. All hardwood sawdust is composted, hardwood scraps are saved and made into scrap wood tables and small pieces of plywood are cut up and donated to the art program at my wife's school to be used as "canvases". Because everything I build is installed locally, there is no packaging waste produced (bubble wrap, cardboard, foam, etc). |

Unmatched Quality
|
The average kitchen cabinet being installed into homes today is much inferior to those of ages past. The sides and back are often made from only 1/2" particle board which chips easily and is very susceptible to water damage. The finishes they use are often designed for speed and efficiency in the factory rather than long-term durability - especially in high wear and tear places like kitchens and bathrooms.
By using these materials, companies are able to keep prices low and profits high. But over time, shelves sag, corners chip and kitchens and bathrooms that are only a few years old, have finish that is fading or wearing through. I (Aaron) believe wholeheartedly in producing quality products from local materials that will stand the test of time. I may not be able to compete with particle board prices, but I try to stay as reasonable as possible because I believe in what I am doing and want locally built products to be available to as many people as possible. The truth is: you get what you pay for. Precision and quality take extra steps and extra time and patience. Better materials typically cost more than inferior materials. I aim for precision and quality in all of my projects so that what I build will last for generations. |
Make the most of your space
Custom, built-in cabinetry is the ultimate space maximizer.
By having something custom built to fit your specific space, you use every available inch and can often make small spaces feel significantly bigger even after getting more storage. Murphy beds and other built-in items can make a spare room into flex space (office, workout room, spare bedroom, etc). Even small bathrooms can be packed with storage and still not feel too cramped. You also have the added bonus of being able to pick custom colors, stains and designs to match your existing decor. |

Service
If you ever have a problem with an item I've built for you, I will come back and make it right at no cost to you. I try to the best of my abilities to build quality products and to use the best materials so as to avoid callbacks. However, if a problem arises, I am happy to come make it right. I like to deal directly with my customers and don't involve any other services or subcontractors so as to avoid miscommunications and make sure everything is done exactly the way you envisioned, with the highest of quality.
I post pictures of projects being built on my INSTAGRAM FEED . For finished pictures check out my PORTFOLIO page.
